2009 Service Award Banquet
On Saturday, October 17 and Sunday, October 18, 2009, District Lodge 837 joined Local Lodges 837A and 837B in expressing the appreciation of the I. A. M. for 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, and 60 years of continuous service to members who have fought long and hard to secure the wages and benefits enjoyed by thousands of retirees and active members.
PDBR Gordon King welcomed the members and their guests before dinner Saturday evening. King discussed the hard earned privileges enjoyed by our members today and the sacrifices made by those in attendance. He mentioned many of the products our men and women have built over the years and the pride each member should feel in the contribution to the I. A. M. and to our nation.
On Sunday, ADBR Steve McDerman announced Brother King's regrets for not being there for medical reasons. Steve expressed the same heartfelt appreciation to those in attendance Sunday. He went on to recognize retired PDBR Gerry Oulson and Retired Plant Chairman Vic Massen. Steve also recognized two special members with 63 years of service and one with 66 years.
